Melodrama: senza te is a fiction of excesses located on the borderline between dance, concert, and drag performance, in which hyper-emotional gestures and music are the protagonists. Fictional pacts, theatricality and artifice are explored to challenge the conventions of representation, and invite the audience to find intimacy and emotion in exaggeration. Bruno Brandolino delves into a personal archive where melodrama and Camp sensibility intersect with his personal history.

Melodrama: senza te is a new chapter in an artistic trajectory that wonders how to write fictions through choreography. By resorting to audiovisual archives, and developing practices of vocal and physical embodiment, to turn them into its writing material. In Melodrama: senza te this experimentation expands from choreography and theatricality to the concert format, exploring different ways of approaching the melodramatic archive through movement, voice and words.
