MOVING DISCOURSE IN CONVERSATION WITH COMPOSER LEONIE STRECKER //
As part of Chapter 3 - Sonic Spectres, which explores the plasticity of sound and, in particular, how memories materialise within the body through the voice, Moving Discourse presents a conversation with composer and synthesist Leonie Strecker. Circling around her work TERMINAL - a concert performance commissioned by and performed at the Music Biennale in Venice in 2023 - the conversation explores the elusive presence and temporality of sound, and of the voice in particular. How is the voice connected to the body from which it derives? How does the voice replicate the presence of this body, even when it has left the latter, travelling autonomously through time and space? How can the same voice materialise again outside the original body and within the body of someone else - taking form as a recurring memory?
