'CATHARSIS' by Ocean Dobree

CATHARSIS is a sound and body based performance incorporating archival audio and site based sonic experiments that draw alliance with past and present expressions of trans and outsider identity.
Channeling the bodily memories of RHIP, CATHARSIS begins by retracing the marks the performance left on the body like scars from a past experience. This then expands into a larger recollection of memory both personal and collective. Responding directly to the space as a vessel for sounding the cries of those whose identities are continually battling erasure. Sound and movement are used as exhalations of the body to allow the performer to ultimately find release through a process of catharsis.
